The College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) is a group of professionals active in the fields of reading/learning assistance, developmental education, and tutorial services at college and adult level. CRLA publishes guidelines for tutor training leading to certification at three levels.

Why are we a certified tutor training program?

  • We want to provide the best tutors possible for the LPC students.
  • We want our tutors to view themselves as para-professionals.
  • We want to make sure our tutors receive the best training.
  • We want to recruit highly motivated and positive tutors.
  • We want to join other institutions in sharing materials and ideas.
  • We want to send our tutors away to universities ready to continue tutoring.

All tutors must receive level one to continue tutoring. Levels 2 and 3 are optional.
