Students who tend to struggle in online courses
Research at LPC reveals that students in two categories tend not to do well in online courses:
- Students who have taken less than 21 units of college credit in their lifetimes
- Students who have a grade-point-average under 2.0
If you fall into one of these categories, it is important that you carefully assess whether online courses are right for you. The link below will help you.
Questionnaire: "Self-evaluation for potential online students."
This questionnaire, courtesy of the University of Illinois, is intended to assess your readiness to take completely online courses.
If you fall into one of the two “at-risk” categories above, and you enroll in an online course(s), it is important that you utilize the available LPC resources, such as counseling, tutoring, etc. You should also understand the college’s withdrawal policy.
