Satisfactory Academic Progress Codes and Definations

A student receiving financial aid, (with the exception of a fee waiver) must:

  • Complete a minimum of 67% of the units attempted each semester with a minimum 2.0 GPA ('units attempted' are defined as those units you remain enrolled in after the add/drop period of each term)
  • Complete a Student Education Plan for the student's declared major once 30 attempted units have been reached (including units earned at previous colleges which apply to the student's current major)
  • Always make academic progress toward completion of the declared major
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 after attending 4 semesters
  • Complete their studies at Las Positas within the maximum time frame of 90 attempted units for all AA/AS or transfer majors,or an attempted unit maximum of 150% of the published program length for certificate majors. Total units to be counted include all attempted units at Chabot/Las Positas Colleges less all ESL units, less up to 30 Basic Skills units, plus all units earned at previous colleges which apply to the current major.
