* Biology 31, Anatomy 1, English 1A, Math 65, and Health 51A or Health 52 are the Required Core Program Entrance Courses and must be met prior to enrollment in the Associates of Science Major Surgical Technology or the Surgical Technology Certificate (before taking Surgical Technology 50).

Having the Certificate demonstrates your proficiency in specified skills to become a Surgical Technician. The Certificate of Achievement in Surgical Technology prepares a student to work as a Surgical Technician in a hospital or surgery center.
