Tiffany Breger
President

I'm Tiffany Breger, and I will be serving as the 2008-2009 Student Body President. This is my third and last year at Las Positas, and my second year in ASLPC (Student Government). I love being a part of Las Positas and am extremely excited about this next year and the potential I believe we can achieve. My involvement in Student Government began when I became an ASLPC senator in spring 2007. I was then appointed as the Director of Legislation for the spring 2008 semester. This next school year, I hope to use the experience and knowledge I’ve gained in my past leadership roles to improve student life on campus and expand the programs and services we offer to students so as to increase student success at Las Positas College and at future educational institutions. I want to work on building and strengthening the communication skills and collaborative efforts between the ASLPC as well as between the ASLPC and the other constituency groups of Las Positas College so that we can work towards implementing the best programs and activities possible to benefit the students. Students’ interests are my main concern, and I plan to dedicate myself to making the students’ experience at Las Positas College the most valuable it can be. I’m excited about the potential we can achieve this next year, and I'm thrilled to serve as your Student Body President. Stop by my office at anytime with any questions, comments, or concerns. My door is always open.

Sudharsan Dwarknath

Director of Legisltation

Hey LPC,

This is my second year at Las Positas, and my second year in the Associated Students. I am working towards transferring to a UC in the Fall of 2009 as a Chemical Engineering major. But more importantly, I am thrilled to be your Director of Legislation for the coming year. My foremost priority is to carry out my duties prescribed by our Constitution and By-Laws, which you can view on this website. Secondly, I will be working throughout these next two semesters to establish more depth to the Associated Students; to design systems for project management, encourage the use of legislation, work to raise the standards for representing students on college committees, and to implement a system that makes student government leaders more accountable for the ethical and legal implications of their actions while charged with the representation of the students of Las Positas College. I will also be actively working as the Chair for Region IV of the Student Senate for California Community Colleges, which includes community colleges from Livermore down to Monterey. Feel free to e-mail if you need anything at all :)

Kindly,
Mr. Sudharsan Dwaraknath

Bethany Wallace
Director of Communications

Hi,
My name is Bethany Wallace and I will be serving as Director of Communications for the Associated Students of Las Positas College. It will be my second semester being involved in ASLPC and I am greatly looking forward to it. I hope to see a lot of growth in the ASLPC this year, and hope to help in that. I think it is important for students on campus to know that we are here to help them. We have some great new activities and programs that will be introduced this year. I want these to be enjoyed by as many students as possible. It is my goal to have as many students involved in ASLPC and our activities as possible. For me ASLPC is a huge building block in my life. It is teaching me valuable life lessons such as leadership skills, organization, and how to communicate ideas as best as possible. I am looking forward to this year with all the students here at LPC. I hope to see you around. Come stop by, check out the office, and see what we are all about.

Mario Jaramillo
Director of Events

"Hello LPC! My name is Mario Jaramillo and I have the pleasure of serving as your Director of Events for the 2008-2009 school year. This year will be my third at Las Positas, as I am finishing my AA in Business Admin before transfering to a UC where I will pursue an MBA in Accounting. My major goal for this school year is to prove that LPC is more than just a community college - It is greatly dynamic and diverse atmosphere thriving with excitement and innovation! I also would like to show that we can actually have fun while learning the tricks of our trade through new club and school events. Hopefully, with my experience as co-chair of a major city-wide event in Livermore (Livermore Pow Wow) and some perseverance, I can make this dream a reality. Please feel free to stop by with any fresh ideas for events that embody student life and what LPC is made of! I hope you all have a fantastic school year. Go Hawks!"

"Hello,

My name is Andrej Hrycaj, and I am a member of the student government as the chair of the Inter Club Council. This Fall will be the start of my second semester at Las Positas College, and I am very excited for it! In the short time I have been here, I have been amazed by what this community college has to offer and has given me. I have come to truly appreciate what an awesome privilege and experience it is to be a part of our campus.

Student government has been one of the many great experiences I have had to explore personal interests in a hands-on environment at Las Positas. I especially love all of the great clubs there are to be involved in! There are over thirty unique and active clubs that welcome and unite students with common interests in community events. These clubs welcome all students and have a wide range from the Future Teachers Club to the Runners' All-Star Club. I have gained a deeper experience by the friendships I have made as a member of the Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society and the Veterans Club during my first semester, last Spring. It is my personal goal to take an active role in encouraging club growth. Please consider joining the energetic groups of students and teachers who work hard to make our campus a stronger community."
